Home to 3,631 people, Berwyn is a town in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Berwyn is both a census-designated place and a part of Philadelphia’s Main Line Suburbs. Berwyn has had many different names throughout its history. It has been called Cocheltown, Glassley, Reeseville, and Gaysville. In 1877, the town was given the name Berwyn after a Welsh settler proposed the name after the Berwyn Hills in Wales. Berwyn, PA is also home to the Footlighter’s Theater, the Teegarden Park, and Glen Brook Farm. The Footlighter’s Theater is a non-profit that has been running for over 80 years, providing entertainment to many and holding the title of the oldest community theater in the Philadelphia mainline. 

Berwyn is also the hometown to a few notable people, such as Harold Barron, Jake Cohen, David Eisenhower, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, and Rachelle Ferrell. Harold Barron was an athlete that competed and won a silver medal in the 1920s Olympics. He specialized in the 110m hurdles.
