Propane Pennsylvania

Propane in Elverson Pennsylvania

Elverson, a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, has a population of about 1,225 people. Elverson’s first residents were settlers in the 18th century, but back then, Elverson was known as Springfield. After that, it was called Blue Rock, named after a pile of strange rocks were found outside of the town. The area remained a small population until the Northern Railroad and Wilmington arrived in 1870, and the population had more than doubled by 1883. Blue Rock became Elverson in 1899 when it was renamed for James Elverson, the owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Elverson was officially incorporated in 1911 and it annexed more land in 1953, putting the town at an area of one square mile.

Elverson, Pennsylvania is also near to the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, an example of a iron plantation from the 19th century. Some of the restored pieces at the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site include a blast furnace, water wheel, blast machinery, cast house, and a charcoal house. They are all a part of the furnace group. The Hopewell Furnace also includes a company store, blacksmith’s shop, barn, worker’s houses, and an ironmaster’s house.
