Saint Peters

Saint Peters is a historic industrial village located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. It’s a 19th-century company village at the Falls of French Creek in Warwick Township and it’s in the Hopewell Big Woods. The French Creek used to be full of iron ore, which led to the French Creek Iron Mines being built and established in the year 1845. In 1880, the “black granite” in the creek started becoming quarried and a hotel called the Excursion House opened. The residential buildings and businesses followed after the hotel and the village started to grow. By the 1970s, the industry aspects of the village slowed to a stop and the village was developed into a local tourist destination. Saint Peters has a main street which is coincidentally called Saint Peters Road. The main road holds Saint Peters’ private residences, a hotel (https://theinnatsaintpeters.com/), a restaurant, and some small shops. The village of Saint Peters was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
