Fantastic experience and interactions with the Gastec team.

We recently purchased our home and it came with tanks for a fireplace and generator. The sellers left us some paperwork but it was a bit spotty on the history/timelines. The Gastec team provided us the history and were able to set us up on our own account for services going forward.

What a refreshing experience to interact with a small, local business that cares. After 22+ years with a large provider for my heating oil and propane, I went with two smaller, local companies after replacing my heating/air-conditioning system. James Brady of Gastec Propane picks up the phone or will get back to me promptly, even during a weekend off-hours. Will be very responsive during emergencies. Gastec was incredibly easy to work with. Great guys both on the sales and install teams. Can’t remember the installers names but James was our salesman and he worked with us to make sure we had heat asap after we changed from oil to propane after unexpected boiler failure. Couldn’t recommend this company more, and I have been in commercial construction my whole life. Reliability and follow thru are major issues in construction and these guys are reliable and follow thru. If you need a new propane service company, call Gastec.

The technician (Brett, I think) who delivered my tanks and set everything up was so friendly and professional. He even took the time to show me how to re-light the pilot light in my propane fireplace, which is definitely not his responsibility at all! He answered all of my questions and told me to call if I thought of any other questions after he left. Mike has also been very helpful in dealing with trying to cut ties with AmeriGas which is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with! Gastec prices are SIGNIFICANTLY better, and they actually genuinely care about their customers!

*It’s unfortunate that your team can’t acknowledge your role in this unfortunate situation. As I stated, Pam, Mike and Kieth have always been a pleasure to deal with, but the other people, Kiersten and Eric provided inaccurate information that snowballed into 5 days of 40 degree temperatures. A simple apology for the mix up would have been sufficient. Instead, you chose to respond with a condescending message absolving yourself of any responsibility. It doesn’t reflect well on you all.

Incompetence at Its Finest—Gastec Left My Family Freezing Over Christmas

If you’re looking for unreliable service and total incompetence, look no further than Gastec. After using this company for over a year without issue, they completely dropped the ball when I needed them the most—leaving me and my three children freezing in our home just three days before Christmas.

I woke up to no heat and no hot water on one of the coldest days of the year. When I called for help, I was met with two completely unhelpful and uninformed employees—Kiersten and Eric. Instead of resolving the issue, they insisted Gastec couldn’t deliver gas because AmeriGas supposedly “owned” my tank, despite Gastec having delivered gas to my home for over a year. They demanded documentation and brushed off the fact that my children and I were facing dangerous temperatures.

Desperate for answers, I spent hours going through hoops trying to contact AmeriGas, only to get nowhere. In the meantime, my family was forced to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas in a hotel—all because two employees didn’t know their own company’s policies.

To add insult to injury, I later found out from Pam and the delivery driver, Keith, that Gastec could, in fact, deliver gas. By then, it was too late—I had already been gouged by AmeriGas, who locked my tank. This entire ordeal could have been avoided if Gastec had competent staff who understood their own procedures.

While Pam has been helpful in the past, the lack of training, consistency, and professionalism displayed by other employees has caused my family significant stress, financial loss, and ruined Christmas.

I will be filing a civil complaint to hold Gastec accountable for their negligence. Beware of this company—they clearly don’t have it together, and their lack of professionalism could leave your

family suffering in the cold like mine. Absolutely unacceptable.

I recently switched from amerigas to gastec after an exhaustive row between me and the company over ownership of a 50 gallon tank i have dedicated for my stove. As a result, amerigas wanted to charge a rental fee on a tank that i had to tell them was theirs years after i purchased my home, only for them to begin charging me for it (despite their lack of proper paperwork and keeping track of their inventory). Long story short, i purchased the tank outright and looked for alternatives.

After seeing gas tec, i called and had a pleasant chat with a representative who gave me very straight forward answers and had a call and fill option, as i dont need to fill my tank except roughly every three years.

Affer some paperwork and proof of ownership, my gas was delivered at a better price and without strange fees.

Will continue doing business in the future and recommend them for others.

Our electrician who put our generator in recommended Gastec for our propane tanks and service. Mike from Gastec called us and was very polite and informative to help us understand what was involved from installing the tanks to what we will need to do for delivery of the propane. I found that my previous national supplier was "way over priced" for propane and when I would place an order it would take a week unless I spent alot of extra $$$$ to upgrade to Expidited Delivery, so I began investigating local suppliers. I came across Gastec and was very pleasently supprised at the fair/competitive price for propane and how easy it was to swap out the tanks, at no charge. I'm now fighting with my previous supplier who is trying to charge me for them coming to remove 'Their' equipment. And, by the way, Gastec does not charge to remove 'Their' equipment but I don't see that happening EVER!!! You want good service at a fair price, look no further!!!!

Great place to get tanks filled! I just had a couple of bbq grill size propane tanks filled. They’re cheaper than everyone else and they fill the tanks higher. They get the tanks right from your car and bring them back filled. Great service and super nice people!

IT Landes converted our heating over to propane back in December, and GasTec has been awesome to work with on the propane side. We opted to bury the tank but provided us with temporary tanks until the weather cooperated with the install of the tank. Gastec went above and beyond on a Sunday, and the coldest day of winter to get our home warm again. Every propane company was unavailable for new customers on a Sunday or not open. Gastec was able to not only get us setup quickly with an account but was also able to send a tech out who troubleshooted our propane tank. He also added 30 gallons to get us through until we get our temporary tanks tomorrow. They were informative, fast and helpful.
