GasTec Residential Propane Options

As a highly efficient, cost effective fuel source, propane is the ideal alternative fuel to help you circumvent the rising costs of gas and oil, while also making your home more environmentally friendly.

You may be surprised to find out that propane is actually considered a non-contaminant by the Environmental Protection Agency, since it is a non-toxic, non-caustic gas that won’t hurt your local water, air or land resources. Aside from its many environmental benefits, propane is also more efficient when compared to most oil-fueled heating units. We can attest to this, as well as our residential clients in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey who rely on our propane services.

Propane burners can reach up to 97 and 98 percent efficiency, while most are about 90 percent efficient. Oil units, however, are usually 80 percent efficient and, if not properly taken care of, can lose about 10 to 15 percent efficiency throughout the year. Additionally, maintenance plans for oil units can cost you upwards of $400 each year. By choosing propane, you can expect almost no yearly maintenance costs as well as increased unit efficiency. These factors along with our competitive propane prices, makes propane cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Propane units also offer comfort benefits that many consumers often overlook. For example, a common heat pump will provide air that ranges from about 95 to 100 degrees, which is about the same temperature of the human body. Because this air is around the same temperature of our bodies–or slightly lower–the air coming from your vents may feel cooler than expected. Conversely, a propane system will provide heated air at around 120 degrees, allowing you and your family to get comfortable in a shorter period of time during those frigid winter months.

If you’re interested in having GasTec help heat your home or power your appliances, we encourage you to check out our many residential services under the “Residential” tab on this page. We also offer convenient payment programs and informational resources that will make your switch to propane fast, easy and affordable.
