Lebanon, NJ Propane

A borough located in the northern section of Hunterdon County, Lebanon borough is most well known for its picturesque family-centric neighborhoods and historic buildings. The borough is home to more than 1,300 residents; Lebanon has undergone a surge of new residents from 2000 to 2010, with an additional 27.5% of its population growth within the decade. The borough was incorporated in 1926 from Clinton Township portions, with additional portions of Clinton Township being annexed in 1962. The borough was originally known as Jacksonville, and later as Lebanonville, Lebanonville Depot, and finally Lebanon. One of the oldest churches in the country, the Dutch Reformed Church, was built between 1747 and 1769 and was registered on the national register of historic places in 2009.

Lebanon is located north of the Round Valley Reservoir, a reservoir built in 1960 when the New Jersey Water Authority constructed two large dams and flooded a large valley in the area. Round Valley is named after the surrounding circular valley, as Cushetunk Mountain partially surrounds the reservoir. The reservoir contains more than 55 billion gallons of water, the largest in the state. Its water has been distrusted throughout the state during times of drought via the Raritan River’s south branch. The Round Valley Reservoir park is known for its hiking and biking trails, as well as its camping area, swimming, and scuba diving facilities. Another primary site in the Lebanon area is the Hunterdon County Arboretum. The arboretum covers more than 73 acres and is the headquarters of Hunterdon County’s park system. The Hunterdon County Arboretum started as a commercial nursery in 1953 and grew native and exotic trees. When the Park Department purchased the property in 1974, they build walking trails for the public.

Today, the borough has 7.08 miles of roadways maintained by Hunterdon County, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the municipality. The most major road within Lebanon is US Route 22, which passes through the center of the borough, with Interstate 78 running through the most northern part of the borough.

Lebanon borough has changed a lot in the past two decades in population and industry. Today, propane company GasTec leads the Hunterdon County area in propane supply due to its commitment to customers and tailored propane services. GasTec recognizes that Lebanon residents and businesses have individual propane needs, which is why GasTec’s team of experienced professionals takes the time to create tailored commercial and residential propane packages for every GasTec customer.
